Susan Ferris

Long Live Crime – (USA)

Combine a dichotomous upbringing in Boston and the south, a passion for the Red Sox, and a p enchant for cigars and you get Susan Ferris, “Mob Boss” of Long Live Crime Records and Broken Halo Records and partner in a management company that handles actors, producers and directors and produces film and television.

With a background in music and film for over twenty years and armed with a degree and theater and film and television from the University of Arkansas (cause that will get you somewhere), Susan has combined the knowledge of both to create a new brand of company.

After a few years of the management company going strong, Ferris began running her own indie record label Long Live Crime Records. The label is

currently distributed in North America under Koch Entertainment. With a roster of about twenty artists that is not genre specific Long Live Crime Records has been able to survive, in a time when people are folding up shop and calling it quits, by using the knowledge Ferris has gained in all the fields she deals in. Having managed and produced in Film and TV this opened a door that is not generally available to indie labels and helped keep LLCR a float with music placements in shows on MTV, CBS A&E, NBC, FOX, ABC the WB and placements in a handful of Indie films as well.

Starting the 15th year of the management with Bohemia and the 5th year of the label, Susan recently expanded her companies by adding a second label that is geared towards a little more alt country and singer songwriter called Broken Halo started a publishing company called SRO publishing that has a current catalogue of over 2000 songs. And has begun working as a music supervisor on a few indie films to give not just her labels but other indie labels opportunities not normally afforded them. Just as important to Susan are the philanthropic endeavors that she is involved in like the Artist take Action board of directors. A not for profit committee who are involved with bringing artists from around the world to come together to benefit AIDS related charities.

Currently Susan enjoys a functioning workaholic existence in Los Angeles, California.
