ABOUT PHONOFILE

Phonofile is the largest music aggregator in the Nordic region, and one of the oldest and most experienced companies in the digital business, founded in 1998.
The company has offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Beijing, and official representatives in Finland.
Phonofile was founded by FONO (The association of Norwegian independent labels), who’s still the largest share holder in the company. Other owners include Alliance Venture, NOPA (composer association) and others.
Today, Phonofile represents over 600 small labels and a catalogue of app 250.000 tracks covering a wide variety of styles and genres. The company holds a unique position in the Nordic territory, but works with labels and services throughout the world.
Over the last year Merlin has become an increasingly important partner for Phonofile, and we fully recognize and applaud the importance of a strong community for the independent sector.
