Glenn Dicker, Co-Owner Redeye Incorporated (Redeye, Yep Roc Music Group), Riff City Sounds Publishing, Haw River, NC/Hillsborough, NC
Glenn Dicker was born on October 21, 1965 and grew up in Doylestown, PA outside of Philadelphia. He attended Gettysburg College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
In 1988, he moved to Boston and began working for Rounder Distribution, first in the warehouse and eventually became their Buyer. He then moved over to Rounder’s record label group doing promotion, marketing and publicity.
In 1994, Dicker started a record label with two other Rounder employees called Upstart Records which released albums by Nick Lowe, Los Straitjackets, Big Ass Truck and others. His primary role was A&R and promotions.
In 1997, Dicker moved to North Carolina with his wife and 2 children to become partners with Tor Hansen in Redeye Incorporated. Redeye’s distribution arm is the exclusive distributor in North America for many leading indie labels including Barsuk, Warp, Kill Rock Stars, Ninja Tune, Burger Records, Luaka Bop, Wichita, Soul Jazz, Daptone, Anticon and many others. Additionally Redeye provides several of our label partners a worldwide physical and digital distribution solution. Redeye also provides label services for many of our partners. Redeye is a leading independent voice in the music community.
The Yep Roc Music Group consists primarily of Yep Roc Records, Break World Records and a few other small imprints. Yep Roc is home to Nick Lowe, Aoife O’Donovan, Dave Alvin, John Doe, Mandolin Orange, Born Ruffians, Tift Merritt, Josh Rouse, Stray Birds and many others.
Redeye is a proud affiliate of A2IM and AIM as well as several other Trade Associations internationally.
Additionally, Dicker and Hansen have a publishing company called Riff City Sounds. Dicker is currently on the boards of Merlin and Music Business Association (previously called NARM).
